Four generations of one family have been part of the history of a gracious Ashburton home. We take a step back in time, visiting Hemsworth Estate which, after extensive renovations, recently opened as a very elegant function venue.
Ask Margie Hulse to share her memories of Hemsworth Estate, and her eyes mist over. She remembers the property belonging to her grandparents, Jack and Freda Guinness. She recalls spending time at Hemsworth with her parents, Doug and Diana Wallace, and numerous family occasions when the house and gardens all rang with laughter – warm, wonderful celebrations. It is because of this enveloping family vibe that Margie and her daughter Rebecca have opened it up as an event venue, so they can share that feeling.
